Interactive Brokers import guide

Import Interactive Brokers trades into your journal

Interactive Brokers exports trade history through Flex Queries. Generate one in Trade Confirmations format, export to CSV, and TradeJournal.dev auto-detects the IBKR layout and runs FIFO position-matching across your executions.

  1. 1

    Open Flex Queries

In IBKR Account Management, go to Performance & Reports → Flex Queries.

  2. 2

Create a Trade Confirmation Flex Query

Create a new Trade Confirmation Flex Query. Include the Executions / Trades section with fields: symbol, date/time, buy/sell, quantity, price, and commission.

  3. 3

Set the date range and run

Choose the date range you want to journal and run the query. Export the result to CSV.

  4. 4

    Upload to TradeJournal.dev

Sign in (free), go to Import, and drop the CSV. The importer detects the IBKR format, matches round-trips FIFO (including partial fills and pyramiding), and writes them into your journal.

IBKR menu names shift between Client Portal and the classic Account Management; look for "Flex Queries" under reports. As of 2026.
